Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Today is the International Day of Prayer for the Peace in Jerusalem. And it could not be more needed. We are in the middle of the month of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting and feasting. Muslim prayer calls blare from loudspeakers six times a day. The Israeli police have ordered some Jewish families not to come out of their houses during certain times of the day because it would disturb the peace.
Jewish hearts long for peace, but all their eyes see is distruction. Some are bitter against God. Others try to do something about it, like the 20-year-old prayer leader who was arrested for blowing his shofar by the Wailing Wall. We must cry out for peace to the one true God who never sleeps and never slumbers as he watches over His beloved Israel (Ps 121). Posted by Picasa

wow! it's 'bout time. :)
that is interesting about the Jews having to stay in their houses because of the Muslim worship. I wonder if the mere presence of the Jews is offensive or "disturbing" to the Muslims...surely they don't think all of them are capable of blowing stuff up.
