Egypt

We returned back from Egypt yesterday morning. While I have travelled a lot of Europe, going to a third world country was a huge eye-opener. We saw a lot of the monuments and historical things like the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx and did a lot of touristic things, but what really caught my heart was the people. While I was there the Lord downloaded something in my heart about what HIS heart is all about--being the righteous judge to the needy.
"Team Cairo" at the Great Pyramid in Giza. It the last of the seven ancient wonders of the world to still exist today.
While in Luxor, we saw two amazing sunsets while sitting by the Nile.
The group (from Left to Right) riding camels: Amy, Arlene, Mark, Andrea, Anne, Jaime, Becca and Jon.
I realize I talked a lot about the spiritual things that went on in my heart but showed most of the touristic pictures. Hopefully next update I will show you the people of Egypt or other less touristic things to expand on what the Lord did and is doing in my life. Posted by Picasa

Comino

Saturday Tyler was busy but Geraldine and I decided to go ahead and go to Comino, the third inhabited island of the Maltese archipelago (even though only about four people live there). There is one hotel and is a popular day trip for tourists to swim in its famous 'blue lagoon.'
It only took about an hour and a half to walk around the entire island (and find two geocaches). The terrain is quite rough, but there is a beautiful view of both Gozo and Malta.
The little islands are part of Comino, surrounding the Blue Lagoon, and the island in the background is Gozo.
St. Mary's tower, used to send warning of invaders to Valletta by the Knights of St. John, and also used as the Chateau D'If in the movie The Count of Monte Cristo.
Today is The Global Day of Prayer. Last year's Global Day of Prayer was the very first--this is a movements started by believers in Cape Town--the movement then spread to the rest of the continent of Africa and in 2005 they challenged the world to take a day and pray for revival to spread across the world. This year we heard about it a little too late to get together more than our church, but next year the believers in Malta hope to gather together and humble themselves and pray. Even though it was just a little group at Palm Springs the Lord still met us in an amazing way and we know that things were shifted in the heavens from our prayers and others' around the world.
Wednesday night I leave for Egypt and I am not taking my laptop, so if you don't hear from me for a while, don't worry.
Pray for good use of my time for the remainder of my time here, and for the presence of God to come here in a real way. Posted by Picasa

Marfa Ridge

I am done with exams now until June 13th when I have my last one. That opened up an opportunity to go on another hike. It was a little cloudy, but that didn't stop me from swimming!
Crystal clear water.
The usual group, Tyler, Gerlaldine, and me.
Geraldine and I on a cliff from afar.
Prayer requests:
1.Pray for America. Dutch Sheets, who I really respect, sent an 'Urgent Prayer' e-mail saying that President Bush and America are at a "Battle of the Bulge" moment where we can either break through or have a major set-back. Now is the time to press in to God and pray for our country.
2. As for me, pray for diligence to press in to knowing God more and prevailing in prayer. Posted by Picasa
